Everyone on the board must have training about safeguarding to make sure they have the knowledge and information needed to perform their functions, understand their responsibilities and assure themselves that the Trust's safeguarding arrangements are robust. Additionally, if you are the Safeguarding Lead, it is recommended that you complete Prevent training. The Trust uses the free government website for Prevent Training. The course will give you an introduction to the Prevent duty, the forms of extremism and terrorism threatening the UK and develop your knowledge around the risks of radicalisation and your supportive role.
If you haven't done Prevent training before: Take the Prevent Awareness course: http://www.support-people-vulnerable-to-radicalisation.service.gov.uk/portal#awareness-course
If you need a refresher: Complete the Refresher Awareness course: http://www.support-people-vulnerable-to-radicalisation.service.gov.uk/portal#refresher-awareness-course
