In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about division and sharing items into 2, 5 or 10 equal groups.
Writing - we have recapped using the present tense and we have learnt about how we can add adverbs to describe verbs in our writing.
Reading - in reading this week, the children have focused on the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.
History - in our new topic, Land Ahoy, the children have learnt about Sir Frances Drake and why he was a significant person!
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be continuing to look at division before looking at multiplication and division word problems.
Writing - the children will be planning, writing and then editing their pirate stew recipe.
Reading - we will continue to focus on identifying the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.
History - in our topic, Land Ahoy, the children will be looking at Sir Francis Drake and deciding whether they think he was a pirate or a privateer.
Science - in our topic Sustainability, the children will be looking at what upcycling is and why it is important.
