Nursery have settled back into school well and have excitedly started their new topic 'Out of this World'. The children were excited to share photos from their Seesaw accounts and talk to the class about their half term news, thinking carefully about speaking clearly and looking at their audience. We read the book '10 Little Pumpkins', listening carefully for rhyming words and trying to use our fingers to represent some numbers up to 10. We have been learning the nursery rhyme 'Incy Wincy Spider' and the makaton signs for spider, sun and again. We learnt about firework safety and used lots of different media to create firework pictures. We used our voices to explore different sounds and shapes that we could make. We are continuing to develop our independence by all trying hard to put on our coats independently, some of us have even been learning to write the first letter of our name!
Nursery have had a busy week celebrating Nursery Rhyme Week and singing lots of rhymes and learning the signs to go with them. We invited our parents in to 'Stay and Play and explore our nursery environment and all the fun things we do at school. We have been developing our positional language and used words to talk about where teddy was hiding, we were very good! Our number knowledge is developing and we used our fine motor skills to count out pom poms to match onto the numicon. We read the story 'Whatever Next' and had so much fun using props from the story to retell it.
