It has been another busy couple of weeks in Reception! This week the children have been enjoying the classic tale of ‘The Gingerbread Man’, exploring the story through reading and engaging in a fun baking session where they created their own delicious gingerbread men.
In Literacy we have been using our phonics knowledge to write CVC words, stretching the word to help us hear the beginning, middle and end sounds. In maths, we carefully weighed out the ingredients we needed for baking, thinking about which were heavier and lighter.
The children were excited to use some brand-new PE equipment this week. They have been practicing throwing, catching and rolling and created a target with cones and hoops.
On top of all of those wonderful things, we watched an anti-bullying workshop, celebrated ‘National Nursery Rhyme Week’, learnt about diabetes through the story ‘The Diabetic Dinosaur’ and celebrated Children in Need!
