Year 6 have had a great couple of weeks. In writing, we've been writing a narrative, focusing on the next part of our class text, Holes. We've really tried to speed up the action by adding exciting dialogue, show not tell sentences and parentheses. In maths, last week, we aced long division and this week, we've been learning about factors and multiples. In science, we've been focusing on the impact of exercise on the body and how it affects the heart. In reading, we have had lots of fun learning about and performing poetry. In art, we've enjoyed designing and making our own packaging and in RE, we've been studying the Five Pillars Of Islam.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:

Maths - simplying, comparing and ordering fractions

Writing - we will be focusing on writing a persuasive text

Reading - we will be deciphering vocabulary in texts

Geography - in our topic, Our Changing World, we will be looking at changing landscapes, comparing places over time

Science - in our topic, Animals Including Humans, we will be designing our own websites.
