Nursery have had a great few weeks developing their independence skills and settling into school life. They have had great joy in exploring their environment and leading their learning through their interests. The children have used their senses this week and were very excited to use their sense of smell to guess what was hiding in the smelly socks! Using their sense of taste, the children tasted a variety of foods to use words to describe how it tasted; the lemon was very popular! Music time was a big hit, with the children exploring instruments that they can shake, responding to commands of 'slow' and 'fast' to make different sounds. They enjoyed multi skills with Mr Saunders, aiming and throwing balls into a target. As the sunshine was out, they used their gross motor skills to push wheeled toys and dig in the sand pit. Many of the children were very excited to find slugs in the garden and went on a bug hunt to see what else they could find! They are developing their fine motor skills and loved using using the hole punchers to create patterns on paper.Â
