YEAR 3
In Maths this week year 3 have been learning to use the column method for subtraction, we are very proud of how hard the children have been working. In English we have been researching African elephants so that we are able to write our non-chronological report next week. We've enjoyed looking at WAGOLL (what a good one looks like) and picking out the different genre features. In Science we have learnt about vertebrates and invertebrates. In Art we have been using charcoal to create patterns and experiment with shading. We are looking forward to creating our final charcoal piece next week. On Thursday we took part in the Be Internet Legends live assembly, there were very important messages shared about how to keep safe online.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - We will be continuing our learning of subtraction by moving onto using the column method of subtraction with renaming.
Writing - Next week in English we will be writing a non-chronological report all about African elephants.
Reading - In Reading we will continue to build on our retrieval skills next week finding key information from the text.
Geography - Next week we will be finishing our learning on Africa by creating our own class presentations all about some of the different countries within the continent of Africa.
Science - In Science we are learning about how skeletal muscles contract and relax.
