This week has been Arts Week! We have looked the paintings by the artist Frank Bowling and explored techniques he used to create his artwork. We made a stencil of a continent and used them to create different outlines. We then explored using watercolour paints to create different effects. We used both of these techniques to produce our own piece of art. In English we used the story 'Speak Up' by Nathan Byron as a stimulus to create and write our own story board and retell. In maths we have been revisiting what we have learnt so far. In science we have also been revisiting our learning about plants and animals. Did you know you can find out how old a tree is by counting the rings inside it's trunk! The children have been excited to make their fruit skewers in DT. It was great to see them carefully cut and assemble their fruit skewers and finally enjoy eating them!
