Year 3 have been busy bees the past two weeks! In Maths, they've mastered the art of money, becoming whizzes at adding and subtracting it, as well as calculating change for those tricky purchases. Now, they're ready to tackle a new challenge – telling the time! They'll be learning about AM and PM, and soon you'll be hearing them tell the time to the nearest minute.
English has seen them delve into the life of a famous explorer – Edmund Hillary. They're busy crafting biographies, learning all about his incredible achievements. World Book Day was a blast too, with the whole class enjoying activities based on the inspiring book, "In Our Hands" by Lucy Farfort.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Year 3 are learning to tell the time to the nearest minute as well as beginning to understand about the 24 hour clock where we will be converting times from the 12 hour clock to the 24 hour clock.
Writing - We have been researching all about Edmund Hillary ready to write our biographies next week.
Geography - We will be learning about Ernest Shackleton.
Science - We are looking at how shadows change throughout the day.
