In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about identifying and sorting different 2D shapes by the amount of sides, vertices and lines of symmetry they have and creating patterns.
Writing - we are learning the features of a setting description whilst looking at the book The River.
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children are recapping the oceans of the world.
Science - in their topic of Micro-habitats, the children have gone outside to find and identify different mini-beasts.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be continuing our topic on shape by moving and turning (quarter, half, three quarter and whole turns) shapes on a grid.
Writing - we will continue our writing journey by planning, writing and then editing our setting descriptions.Â
Reading - we will look at different styles of vocabulary and inference questions and working our how to find the answers in the text.
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children will look at sketching a map of our local area from an aerial photo.
Science - we will be planning an investigation to find out more information about woodlice.
