Reception has had an exciting couple of weeks continuing our learning about creatures. 

We read the story 'The Three Little Pigs' and became one of the pigs from the story. We used different materials to build our own houses and tested their strength by trying to blow them down using a fan. We have also enjoyed reading 'Dear Zoo' and thinking about which animals we would like to have as pets.

In literacy we have been writing 'I like...' sentences, trying hard to include an adjective. We have also been working hard to form letters correctly and make our writing sit on the line. 

In maths, we have been busy using balances to weigh different items. We have been using the language heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter, and lightest to describe weight. We have also been learning to double numbers to 5.

We really enjoyed World Book Day and were amazed by the children's fantastic costumes.
