Hello Year 3 Families,

What a busy and exciting term it has been already! We've been diving into a range of fascinating topics and celebrating some fantastic achievements.

Delicious Designs in DT!

Our budding chefs have been exploring the wonderful world of seasonal food in Design and Technology. We've been learning about the tasty treats that grow at different times of the year. Keep an eye out for some delicious creations coming home soon!

Money Matters in Maths!

In Maths, we've been sharpening our money skills, learning how to add and subtract amounts. The children have been working hard to solve real-world problems involving coins and notes. They are becoming very confident shoppers!

Gymnastics Glory!

A huge congratulations to the Year 3 gymnasts who participated in the recent competition. They showed incredible skill, determination, and teamwork, and we are thrilled to announce they brought home GOLD MEDALS! We are so proud of their fantastic achievement.

Light and Shadows in Science!

Our young scientists have been investigating the intriguing world of light and shadows. We've been exploring how light travels, how shadows are formed, and conducting experiments to see how different objects affect shadows. The children have been fascinated by the way light interacts with the world around us.

World Book Day Wonder!

A massive thank you to all the children and families for their incredible effort with World Book Day costumes. We were blown away by the creativity and imagination on display. It was wonderful to see so many beloved characters come to life!

In the next term, we will be learning:

Maths - The children will be looking at adding and subtracting money.  

Writing - Our text will be "First to the Top" and we will write a diary entry.

Science - Our Science topic that we are looking at in the next half term will be "Light and shadows"

Trips this year 

Year 3 sleepover 25th April (details to follow) 

22nd/23rd May 2025 Kew Gardens 

More details will  follow closer to the time about which classes will be going on which dates and any other information relevant to that trip.
