Over the last 2 weeks in English we have used the original story of Paddington as our stimulus for writing. We have sequenced the story, created a story map and written our own version of the story in a booklet.
In maths the children have been using part part whole models to find different ways of making numbers to 10. We have also been making number stories from pictures to create calculations and them represent them on a part part whole model.
In science we have been exploring the differences in daylight hours in the four seasons. We looked for signs of autumn in the local environment and thought about how deciduous trees change throughout the seasons.
In art we have been drawing objects using a continuous line.
In history we have been finding out what childhood was like in the 1060's and 1970's..
Our learning over the next 2 weeks:
Maths - In maths we will be adding with in 10.
Writing - Our writing stimulus will be 'Peace at Last'. We will be acting out the story, sequencing the story and retelling the story in our own words.
History - We will be continuing to explore childhood in the past. ]
Science - We will be using our knowledge of weather and the seasons to make a weather report for our chosen season.
