Reception have had a busy and exciting couple of weeks! Last week, we delved into the classic tale of "The Gingerbread Man." We had a blast bringing the story to life through role-play and then had a wonderful time creating our own delicious gingerbread men. During our baking preparations, we learned about comparing weights and skillfully measured out the ingredients. We observed the mixture closely at each stage, discussing the fascinating changes that occurred. And of course, we were extra careful when taking our gingerbread men out of the oven – we didn't want them to run away!

This week, we blasted off into space with the story "Whatever Next!". We enjoyed acting out the story, using the book's language and sequencing the events. Our imaginations soared as we created space pictures and pondered what essentials we'd pack for an interstellar journey. In maths, we turned ordinary egg boxes into tools for discovering different number patterns.
