Over the past two weeks Nursery have enjoyed reading the books 'Each Peach Pear Plum' and 'The Gruffalo'.

In Maths we have been learning about the shapes circle and square and have hunted around the classroom for these shapes, finding them hidden in so many different places! We have been learning to describe the shapes using mathematical language such as ‘sides’, ‘straight’ and ‘round’.

In Phonics we have been learning about the sounds 't' (teeth, toast, teddy, top and tap) and 'p' (pen, peg, pizza, pencil and penguin).

In R.E. we have started learning about the Christmas story and the people who were involved, such as baby Jesus, his mother Mary and father Joseph. We have also been busy practising for our Christmas show, learning different songs and the actions to go along with them.

We have been using the cold weather to our advantage and taking the opportunity to use the scrappers to make pre-writing marks in the frost and ice.
