What a fantastic time we've been having in Year 4!
Our English lessons have taken us deep into the Amazonian jungle as we've been reading 'Journey to the Last River'. The children have absolutely loved exploring a variety of diary entries from an explorer, which has been a brilliant inspiration for their own recount writing. They've been working hard to capture different adventures on paper!
In Maths, we've been consolidating our understanding of the four operations, revisiting addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to ensure our skills are super sharp.
Geography has seen us explore the fascinating journey of water as we've learned all about how a river is formed. The children were amazed to discover the different stages of a river's life.
And finally, our DT lessons have been deliciously fun! The children have been busy tasting and designing their own biscuits, putting their creative (and taste-testing!) skills to the test.
We also want to give a massive shout-out to the entire Year 4 for their incredible dedication to learning the violin or cello this term. They have all done an amazing job and presented some truly wonderful performances for the adults. Well done, everyone!
Over the next two weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Recapping money word problems
Writing - Journey to the Last River - Writing a non-chronological report with the purpose to discuss
Geography - What are rivers and how are they used? - Where can we find rivers?
Science - Making Connections - Revisiting topics and creating information slides
