This half term our theme is 'Growing and transitions'. Over the past two weeks we have been reading the books 'I wish I were a pilot' and 'I'd rather go to Grandad's'.
In Maths, we have been making comparisons between objects relating to weight when learning about heavy and light and floating and sinking. We have also been recapping repeating (AB) patterns.
In Phonics, we have looked at the digraphs 'sh' ('shark', shoe' and 'shell') and 'th' ('thumb' and 'teeth'). Each week we continue to work on our segmenting and blending skills, which help us to break down the different sounds in words and then blend them together again to remake the word (e.g. sh-ar-k and t-ee-th).
In R.E. we have been thinking about special places to Christians (churches) and Muslims (mosques).
On Thursday we took part in a very hot Sports Day! Each child took part in 5 activities including the scooter run, bean bag throw, egg and spoon race, tunnel crawl and bean bag balance. They all did an amazing job and tried so hard! We are all so proud of them and the work that they have done! Well done Nursery!
