In Year 6, we've been diving into exciting new topics across the curriculum. In English, we've honed our journalistic skills by crafting newspaper articles inspired by our class text, "Holes." We delved into the complexities of Stanley Yelnats' actions, analysing the consequences of his decisions. Maths lessons have challenged us to compare, order, and round numbers up to a staggering 10,000,000, expanding our numerical understanding. Our scientific explorations have focused on the diversity of living things, both big and small, leading us to explore classification systems. History has taken us on a journey to the Sikh Empire, where we learned about the influential Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his contributions. Music lessons have swung into action with an introduction to swing music, and we've had a blast singing "Hey Mr Miller" this week.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - four operations on whole numbers.
Writing - writing a diary entry in role as Stanley Yelnats from our class text 'Holes',
Reading - focusing on inference skills
Science - Living things and classifying: Warm-blooded vertebrates
