Year 4 has been engrossed in the thrilling world of "Escape from Pompeii" in our English lessons. We've tapped into our creative sides, crafting powerful poems about volcanic eruptions, and are now honing our descriptive writing skills with exciting recounts. In Maths, we're conquering numbers up to 10,000, laying a strong foundation for future mathematical adventures. Our Science lessons are taking us on a fascinating journey through the animal kingdom, exploring digestion and the importance of food. And in History, we're traveling back in time to discover how children's lives have changed over the years.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Over the next few weeks the children will be working on adding and subtracting within 10 000.
Writing - We will continue working on our Power of Reading text "Escape from Pompeii" and will be writing persuasive letters.
History - We will investigate investigate the working conditions of Victorian children.
Science - Science investigation will be exploring the diet and teeth of different carnivore, herbivore and omnivore animals, and looking at producers, predators and preys in food chain.
