We are excited to let you know about new ways of making music with Sutton Music Trust!
Welcome to our Music Production Academy and Songwriter's Circle!
These group lessons allow your child to gain a deeper understanding of these styles of music-making under guidance from our experienced music tutors.
In the Music Production classes, your child will learn valuable skills and knowledge to create music with computers - opening up new ways to create sound. As part of the course, they will compose music in many genres, learn about music for film, and record vocals and instruments using industry-standard equipment at Sutton Must Trust. The primary objective is that your child can utilise these tools at home and incorporate them into their instrument playing and songwriting!
The Songwriter’s Circle will offer a look into harmony, melody and lyrics - the fundamentals of making a song. No matter the skill set of each child involved, we will tune into their mindset of what makes a great song. If they already have some knowledge in music production but want to use it as a tool, this will go hand in hand with creating a song. We will learn the basics of music theory the main chords in contemporary music, utilising this knowledge to know how melody and chords work together to bring emotion into their pieces. There will be performance opportunities available too, allowing your child to share their music with an audience!
