In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about length and measuring items in metres.
Writing - we have recapped using the present tense and identified the features of job applications.
Reading - in reading this week, the children have focused on the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.
History - in our new topic, Land Ahoy, the children have looked at secondary sources of pirates and their every day items and used them to describe what they looked like.
RE - the children have taken part in a Christmas Workshop where they looked at he Christmas story from the innkeepers point of view.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be continuing to look at length, focusing on using rulers to measure in centimetres.
Writing - the children will be planning, writing and then editing their job applications.
Reading - we will continue to focus on identifying the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.
History - in our topic, Land Ahoy, the children will be looking at famous pirates from around the world and seeing what made them special.
Science - in our topic Sustainability, the children will be looking at recapping everything we have learnt about recycling.
