We have had a wonderful week in reception, taking part in many activities linked to space. We read a true story about Mae Jemison's journey to becoming an astronaut- ‘Mae Among the Stars’. We found out about how her hard work and determination resulted in her dream of seeing Earth from space came true. The Reception children then thought about what they dream of being when they grow up and had a go at writing this in a speech bubble. In maths we have been exploring the number 8 and ordering numbers from 1-10.
We have been using our imaginations to make Playdoh aliens and created the surface of the moon using corn flour and baby oil. We then dropped rocks onto the surface and looked at the similarities and differences between the craters that they made. We have loved our new Duplo kit and made lots of amazing things.
