What a great week we have had in year 6. It is safe to say the rehearsals for 'The Wizard of Oz' are well underway and we cannot wait to welcome the year 6s friends and family. It has been great to see so many children come to light on stage from acting in starring roles like the 'Tin Man' to showing off some brilliant moves in some difficult choreography.
Key Dates:
Tuesday 20th June - Year 6 Leavers Ball (5pm - 7pm)
Friday 23rd June - Chocolate Mufti (bring in some chocolate for the Summer Fair)
Monday 3rd July - Dress Rehearsal to Brookfield Children and Staff
Tuesday 4th July and Wednesday 5th July - Production to Parents (time to be confirmed)
Reminder: Children need to start bringing in their costumes for the production in a names carrier bag. A letter was sent out before half term. If you child has lost their sheet, please see information attached below.
Munchkin:
Coloured top and trousers
multi coloured socks (preferably knee length)
coloured braces (boys)
tutus (girls)
The brighter the clothing the better! If children want to bring accessories such as bows for their hair, they are more than welcome.
Monkey/Captain:
black top and trousers/leggings
monkey wings (school will be providing these)
Monkey ears and tail
Mouse:
grey t-shirt/ dark trousers
mouse ears (accessories)
Gatekeeper/Guard:
White shirt
Black trousers
Black sunglasses
All children in year 6 (except Dorothy) will need the following:
a coloured t -shirt
a black t-shirt
a green t -shirt
dark trousers/leggings (no shorts)

Children are expected to complete the following:
5 reads in their reading diary each week
Complete their daily doodle task, aiming to stay in the green each week
In total, year 6 should spend between 1hour - 1hour and a half in their homework each week.
If your child needs any help with their homework, children can attend homework club on a Tuesday or speak to their class teacher for support.
