We have been extremely busy over the past two weeks! We have continued with our text 'The Explorer'. First, we had the task of completing a narrative poem based on the explorer. The children fully immersed themselves into this role, introducing some brilliant figurative language. The poems really brought the image of the explorer to life! We have also been busy writing a recipe for a meal we could make in the rainforest. It was extremely fun coming up with the different ingrediants and equiment we would use in the rainforest!
In maths, we have been focusing on the topic of area and perimeter. Year 5 have done a really good job at understanding the concepts vand applying these to fluency question. We also extended our learning further by answering tricky questions based on composite shapes.Â
Humanities has been brilliant, continuing our learning of 'Rainforests'. This week we have been looking at the layers of the rainforest! We researched the 4 layers of the rainforest, looking at its key features and roles to keep the animals and plants thriving. We then created our own booklets decribing the different layers of the rainforest, take a look below!
We have also had our exciting 'pyjamarama day'! On this day, we were able to swap classes and share some fantastic stories with the year threes! It was great to see all children sharing stories and ariticulating what they enjoy about them!
This week, we have also had a busy week completing our Summer term assessments! The children have worked so hard on these and each and every one of them should be extremely proud of themselves.
Well done for a brilliant week year 5, keep up the amazing work!
