What a great few weeks we have had in year 6.
In maths, the children have continued tackling fractions. They have looked at adding and subtracting, timsing and dividing and finding fractions of amounts.
Over the last two weeks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed our writing topic - writing to persuade. They were tasked with persuading the teachers to buy unsellable products. This then helped them with created persuasive leaflets to encourage parents to send their children to Camp Green Lake. Take a look at some of the fantastic examples below.
In history this half term, we have began looking at the Maya Civilisation. Children look part in a 'Now Press Play' session whereby they learnt about different Maya societies such as the city of Tikal versus rural, agricultural life and why the Maya Civilisation has declined.
In PE, the children focused on their creative skills. They put their skills to the test with a game of seated volley ball. It was great to see lots of smiley faces and teamwork.
Year 6 were also very lucky to have a NSPCC workshop where they discussed the importance of staying safe. They had lots of fun creating chatterbox and learning about how they can keep themselves safe.
