As we approach the final few weeks of the school year, it has been wonderful to see Year 5 continuing to work so hard and enthusiastically. We are incredibly proud of the progress they have made and the maturity they have shown.
In Maths, we have been stretching our spatial reasoning skills by tackling the area and perimeter of composite shapes. The children have shown great perseverance in breaking down complex figures to find their measurements. We have also delved into the three-dimensional world, learning how to calculate the volume of various 3D shapes.
Our English lessons have been brought to life with the power of performance poetry. Inspired by the engaging and humorous work of Michael Rosen, the children have spent this week writing their very own poems. We were immensely proud to see every child stand up and perform their piece for the class. Their courage and creativity were truly wonderful to witness!
For Art's Week, the children have been exploring the theme of 'What Art Means to Me'. This has resulted in a stunning gallery of individual and thoughtful pieces, each one unique to its creator.
Adding to the excitement, last week we enjoyed a fantastic trip to Sutton Library to watch a captivating performance of 'The Secret Garden'. It was a magical experience for everyone involved.
Well done, Year 5, for another two weeks of fantastic learning and effort!
