What an amazing end to an amazing year! Year 4 have been creatively exploring clay in Arts Week and going on a Viking raid using Now Press Play.
Year 4 have used 'Arthur and the Golden Rope' by Joe Todd-Stanton to explore writing a song using an AABB rhyming scheme.
In Reading, we have finished reading our book How to train your dragon by Cressida Cowell. We have been using our retrieval skills to find the information in the text. we have also made comparisons in the text and between the book and the film of the book.
In Maths, we have been revising the 4 main operations addition, subtraction multiplication and division. We have also been using these in problem solving.
.We have continued our History topic, Were the Vikings raiders, traders or settlers? We have explored the what Viking life was like and the legacies that still exist today. We finished off our topic using Now Press Play to transport us back into the past and into a Viking raid. Our characters decided to settle in Britain after becoming involved in a Viking raid.
We had a creative time in Arts Week. We created self portraits in pencil sketches of our faces and then we created medals and coins with either a motto that relates to our LEO explorer characteristics or our portrait in profile. We carefully carved out the clay to make our images more 3 dimensional.
We would like to take this opportunity to say what a fantastic year we had this year and to thank you all for all the help and support we have received. We wish everyone a brilliant holiday and much success in Year 5.
