We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Caroline Hadland for her outstanding contribution to the school as a parent governor. Caroline has served on the governing body for 7 years, providing valuable support and guidance to the school leadership team.
During their time as a parent governor, Caroline has been a passionate advocate for all students, working tirelessly to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. She has been instrumental in shaping the school's vision and strategy, and her expertise and insights have been invaluable in making important decisions about the school's future.
We are incredibly grateful for her service and wish her all the best for the future.
On behalf of the entire BF community, we also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Anne Huckle, who has been one of our cleaning members of staff for 16 years.
Anne's departure is a significant loss for our school community. Her cheerful presence, positive attitude, and unwavering commitment to her work have made her an integral part of the BF family. We will miss her infectious smile, her willingness to go the extra mile, and her unwavering dedication to ensuring that our school remains a shining example of cleanliness and pride.
We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and hope that she carries fond memories of her time at BF.
Miss Jess Gaul, who has been promoted to Office Manager at Brookfield.
We have such wonderful news to share!
Our very own Year 5 student Vaishu Reguraman won an artwork competition hosted by the Royal Collection Trust and London Grid for Learning.
The task was to design a new Official State Mode of Transport, for King Charles III and future generations of monarchs to travel to the Coronation.
Vaishu was one of 12 students who took part in the competition to win. As part of her prize, Vaishu has been invited on a tour of Buckingham Palace in December!
We are so proud of her for her brilliant ideas and talent. Watch this space for photos of the trip!
As we all know, a nutritious meal is essential for a child's growth and development. That's why the Mayor of London's initiative to provide free school meals to all Key Stage 2 children in state-funded schools is such a welcome addition to our school community. Please click here to find out more about the free school meals your child is entitled to at Brookfield Primary Academy.
If your child is unwell or going to be off school please compete the School Absence Form by 9:15am, at the latest, on the day of your child's absence and any subsequent days.
Please submit a form for each child that is absent.
Can we please remind you that if your child has been sick/vomiting then they must stay off school until 24 hours after their last bout of sickness. If your child has diarrhoea, or sickness and diarrhoea together, then they must not return to school until 48 hours after their symptoms have gone.
Please refer to our 'my child is unwell' document for more information on when your child should return to school.
If your child has an illness that requires them to take medication during school hours (e.g. antibiotics, cough medicine, creams etc.), you must fill in a Medicine Permission form. This can be found on our website under the Parents tab. Hard copies are also available on the carousel in the school office reception area.
This form, and the medication, must be brought to the school office on the morning that the medication is due to start. The school office staff will administer the medication at the times stated on the form by the parent/carer. You can collect the medication at the end of the school day, or at the end of the illness.
Please do not send any medicine into class with your child, this includes sore throat lozenges.
If we do not have a Medical Permission form, we will not be able to administer medication to your child.
Please can we ask you and your child to read through and confirm the Brookfield Primary Academy's Home School Agreement. The Home School Agreement is a document that outlines what expectations you can have of the school, what expectations we have of our parents/carers and what expectations we have of our pupils.
Also, as part of GDPR, at the end of every academic year, we are required to check that the data we hold for your child on Arbor is up to date and correct. Please can we ask you to log into the Arbor app and click on your child's face (top left hand side of the screen), this will bring up their details. Please scroll down and check if the information is correct, if you need to make any changes this can be done via the app and will be automatically sent to the office admin team to approve.
Also, please can we ask you to check the parental consents for your child, if any of the consents are incorrect or you wish to add or amend anything please let us know, via email bfoffice@leoacademytrust.co.uk and we can make the necessary changes.
If we do not hear from you we will accept that the data/consents we hold are correct.

We are really excited to announce that Chaplin's touring theatre company will be returning to Brookfield in December. They will be performing this year's pantomime, Cinderella, for our children. It is fantastic to hear that pupils from all over the world, including pupils from LEO, who took part in the Sing Up Day Digi Choir event! This event is a wonderful way to celebrate the power of music and singing, and to bring people together from all different backgrounds.
The Sing Up Day Digi Choir is a virtual choir that is created by compiling videos of people singing from all over the world. This year's Sing Up Day anthem was "Blossom out", a song by Tomuri Spicer that celebrates the earth and our connection to the natural world around us.
I am sure that the Sing Up Day Digi Choir event was a wonderful experience for all involved. It is a great opportunity for pupils to share their love of singing with others, and to learn about different cultures and traditions from around the world.

Please be considerate if you are driving to drop off/collect your child from school. Unfortunately a small number of people are parking dangerously and inconsiderately on Ridge Road, Beeches Road and the surrounding areas.
As we are an eco school, I would like to encourage parents and pupils to use more sustainable modes of travel to get to school where this is possible. I do understand that parents or carers will sometimes need to drive their children to school, however, I would urge where possible for parents/guardians to park away from the school and then walk in.
Please could you think of the safety of ALL our children and refrain from parking across residents driveways as this is an offence which could also result in a Penalty Charge Notice.
Over the summer Sutton Council were unsuccessful in finding a new School Crossing Patrol officer (lollipop person) for Brookfield. Since then a recruitment freeze has come into place at the Highways and Transport section, which means recruitment for this role is on hold and there will not be a School Patrol Crossing officer at Brookfield in the near future. Please do write to your local MP to share any concerns about this decision.
While there is no School Crossing Patrol Officer can we please urge you to reduce your speed when driving outside the school and be aware that children will be crossing the road and may step out unexpectedly.
We pride ourselves on offering our children varied and exciting experiences and activities that help to support their learning of the curriculum. The School Fund will allow us to provide additional activities across all year groups.
We have a voluntary school fund donation of £10 a term / £30 a year per child or £40 for a family if there are siblings at the school. Parents can pay for School Fund online via our Arbor payment system, go to Accounts - School Fund - Top Up Account.
We would like to thank you for your support.
Pupil premium is additional funding allocated to all schools in England to support disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. This budget includes pupils who are currently entitled to free school meals, have been free schools meals in the past six years (FSM ‘Ever 6’), children that are cared for or adopted from care and children whose parents are in the armed forces.
We would like to remind all parents who are eligible, to apply for the Pupil Premium Grant. This grant enables the school to provide additional support to our children where needed. Examples of this are, access to extra-curricular clubs and additional support with specific areas of the curriculum.
Applying for this grant is very simple, it can be done online, for more information please see below:
