UPDATE (11/13/2020) -
The Google for Education team is committed to supporting teaching and learning from anywhere, at any time, on any device. For the past several years, we’ve been proud to enable immersive VR learning experiences for millions of students around the world with Tour Creator. Through Tour Creator, educators took students on new adventures to experience far-away places or learn about cultures unlike their own.
While Tour Creator has been a useful tool, usage has been limited. In order to focus on building the most impactful teaching and learning tools for schools now to support hybrid learning, we have made the difficult decision to deprecate Tour Creator on June 30, 2021. After that date, Tour Creator will no longer be accessible.

“The focus is on creating engaging and relevant literary experiences for students. I like to say Google Lit Trips ‘3-dimensionalize’ the reading experience by placing readers ‘inside the story’ traveling alongside the characters; looking through the windshield of that old jalopy in The Grapes of Wrath or waddling alongside Mr. and Mrs. Mallard’s duckling family in Make Way for Ducklings.” - Skillshop Google for Education
History - Mark important locations, turn off 3D buildings layer to see how landscape might have looked to the explorers.
Math - Calculate volume of real-world solids such as any famous structures or cavernous locations such as a section of the Grand Canyon.
Math - Use the ruler and path tools to calculate distances.
Science - Mark locations of earthquakes & volcanoes. Photos, Islands, and Geographic features help learn about plate tectonics.
Science - Research animal habitats

Searching for cities, countries, and street addresses is well known to Google Maps users. However, you can also search for key terms like “museums.” Once your search results come up you can filter by ratings that have been left by other Google Maps users. You can even find directions and traffic reports from a general area.
Keeping up with current events may be part of your class. If so, you can learn a lot about what’s happening by looking at what people are searching for. Google Trends is the perfect tool for this. Categories such as YouTube videos, charts, search terms, and even geographic locations highlight what is popular on the Internet. Change the location selector to see the world from a different point of view.
Google News brings you the latest news on topics from around the world - a great resource for debates, forensics, or just keeping up with what’s going on. Top news stories are listed and there are category filters for you to personalize your results to the topics that interest you.
Sometimes your students may need to quickly reference part of a book that isn’t in your school library. Google Books allows you to search for books you may want to purchase or that are freely available on the Internet.
Google Alerts brings the latest of the web right to you. You can set up custom search terms and whenever a website, blog post, or news article matches the phrase you’ve set up you will be alerted via email. Students sometimes use this to monitor their own digital footprint because they are alerted if their name ever pops up on the web. (*If enabled by your Google Administrator)
This is an opportunity for students to practice their skills for using Google's search engine. TEMPLATE available - Search Quest Template

Traditionally, writing that happens in class is solely between the student and the teacher. As soon as you share writing with a larger audience, the process changes. That’s what Blogger can help create that public audience.
YouTube is an ideal place to host the video content that students are creating. Investing in creating a channel allows students to have a professional video presence and build an audience of followers to share their work with.
Students can use YouTube Live to broadcast their conversations and presentations on YouTube so that anyone can watch. There are even audience participation features such as Q and A that can aide in engaging users.
Nothing beats the ease of public access of a website. It’s a place to present and share student work that does not require users to have an account with a specific platform.
