About Me

Education:

BA Mathematics - Schreiner University, Kerrville (2001)

Teaching Experience:

I joined the district in 2001 when I began my educational career. I taught 8th grade math and Pre-AP Algebra 1 at Running Brushy Middle School for 5 years then left the district and state when my husband was relocated to Wyoming and Oklahoma, respectively, in 2006. I taught Geometry and Algebra 2 in Savanna, OK for a year before returning to Leander ISD in 2008. I was re-hired to teach 8th grade math and Pre-AP Algebra 1 at RBMS. I had the opportunity to join the Rouse High School family in 2010 where I've taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Pre-AP Geometry.

Instructional Technology Experience:

In 2015, I obtained my Google Educator Level 1 Certification. In 2016, I obtained my Google Educator Level 2 Certification and obtained my Google Trainer for Education Certification in February 2018.

Instructional Coaching Experience:

Currently, I am the Instructional Coach at Cedar Park High School. I get the opportunity to meet many people with great teaching ideas and experiences. As part of my role, I am the Lead Mentor for the campus assisting all new-to-profession teachers and their mentors. I also provide coaching cycles for any teacher that wishes to improve his/her teaching and classroom management. This can be done by looking at various data collected during an observation and/or by using any of the continuous improvement tools. I provide curriculum and common assessment support as needed within the many campus PLCs. In addition, I support various instructional strategies to the campus including SIM routines, Kagan structures, and AVID strategies. I also support teachers in their goal setting of the LEADS process and offer learning walks through the lens of 1-2 dimensions from the LEADS rubric. I assist with the deployment and spring inventory of district devices in addition to the distribution of student learning modules.
