PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Criminal Justice 1 & 2 coursework facilitates mastery of the Virginia Department of Education’s VERSO Competencies for Career Tech Education (CTE) classes and helps develop Workplace Readiness Skills for a profession of interest. Along the way, we’ll learn about various components of the criminal justice system, careers options within the field, and how to complete some practical aspects of being a law enforcement officer, like making traffic stops, how to be a community partner, and collecting evidence at a crime scene.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Ms. Glenn is the co-founder of and Chief Content Creator for Criminal Justice Know How, LLC and designs transformative trainings for criminal justice practitioners, those who want to work in the field of criminal justice, and community members who seek to understand how the criminal justice system works. Kelly is former police officer, criminal investigations detective, and victim advocate. She earned a degree in Administration of Justice and currently teaches Criminal Justice 1 & 2, as well as served as the Coordinator for a team of criminal justice practitioners that works to identify gaps and barriers to services for domestic violence victims. During her twenty year tenure in the criminal justice field, Ms. Glenn has maintained her sanity by traveling, reading, and antiquing. She surrounds herself with people who have varying viewpoints on life but favors those who enjoy sharing good food and a great sense of humor.
