Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community by Cynthia Germanotta
Presents a collection of true stories about kindness, bravery, and resilience from young people, including kids who stood up to bullies, started social movements, worked to break social stigmas, and created safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.
Review from School Library Journal:
This work is a collection of stories gathered by reporters from the Born This Way Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta. The book is narrated by a selection of these reporters and showcases stories of kindness from across the country. Each story is unique and begins with a brief biography of the person featured and their work/life. The narrators of this book are not voice actors, which one can easily tell, but that makes their verbalization of these stories all the more powerful. The 51 chapters in the book include stories representing a wide range of life experiences from people in the LGBTQIA+ community, people battling mental health issues, people with different physical or mental abilities, and much more.
