LBNL Project Management Advisory Boards (PMAB & PMAB-CP)
LBNL Project Management Advisory Boards (PMAB & PMAB-CP)
Introduction and Background
The Project Management Advisory Board (PMAB) will provide observations, advice, assistance, assurance and recommendations related to successful project execution and completion to both line and project managers. The PMAB will proactively identify, pursue and provide advice concerning all project elements, to minimally include: scope, schedule, budget, risks and mitigation, safety in execution, key performance indicators and trends, governance, performance of key organizations, the perspectives of project stakeholders, plans to ensure meeting project goals, and lessons learned.
At its inception in December 2016, the PMAB portfolio consisted of all LBNL projects subject to DOE Order 413.3b requirements, including science, engineering, infrastructure, and demolition and decontamination. In 2019, PMAB shifted its focus to science and engineering projects as the LBNL portfolio expanded. The growing number of large scale and mission critical infrastructure projects at LBNL led to the formation of the PMAB for construction projects (PMAB-CP) in October 2020. More information about the PMAB can be found here.
