IB and Careers News

What a brillant term we have had ! We continued to explore the IB learner profiles through build a profile.Children have taken action and applied the learner profiles to all areas of their learning and school life in and out of the classroom.

The children have all been inquirers this term as they have learnt about Easter story by conducting research and developing their curiosity.

During the Easter holidays, please continue to use ClassDojo to share with us any action or home learning that happens. Please also share with us your family celebrations over this Easter period.

Careers Related Learning

As an accredited Investors in Careers school, learning about careers and inspiring our children is a key part of each of our units of inquiry. During each unit, our staff carefully plan visits, visitors and activities to expose children to a range of careers to help raise aspirations. This term we have learnt about explorers , marine biologists , researchers ,health care workers and  nurses.

During our whole school assembly , children were given an opportunity to speak about what they would like to be when they grow up and steps they need to take to get there. This was linked with our learner profiles and children were encouraged to explore different careers in various classes. We continued to drive 50 by 11 - This aims to provide our learners with 50 careers related events, talks, visits, visitors and experiences by the time they move on to secondary school aged 11.  We believe that this is the best way to prepare them for life beyond Primary school and the world of work.

Well done to Year 3 , who became designers and chefs as they planned , designed and created their own pizza box and finally made a pizza!

Next term, we would like to invite parents and family members to share their experiences and careers with our pupils. If you would be interested in sharing your career or profession then please contact Mr Filsell & Ms Jn Baptiste via our school office - office@dartfordprimary.org.uk
