Dear DPA Families and Friends,
Thank you for continuing to work so closely with us to ensure the very best for your child. It is vitally important for children to attend school regularly both for their learning academically and to support their physical and mental wellbeing. If children miss school often, there will be gaps in their knowledge which over time has a significant impact on their learning. In addition, mental wellbeing can be affected as it can lower self-esteem and confidence.
Children do not need to be off school for minor illnesses such as colds, sore throats, ear aches etc unless accompanied with a temperature or they are in such discomfort that they would not be able to participate in their learning. Term time holiday will not be authorised and penalty notices may apply.
Please can I also remind you that arriving at school after 9.00 a.m. will result in a late mark and punctuality is also important so children do not miss the start of a lesson and develop a strong work ethic.
