Dear Parents and Carers
Well this term has certainly seen some exciting days here at DPA - Pirates, superheroes, Colourful book characters, exotic animals, Viking feasts, pizza making, meeting our French Penpals (virtually of course) and many other clubs and activities. The curriculum here at DPA has sprung into life. Everyday, our children explore something new. Everyday, our wonderful staff think of new exciting ways to captivate our children and take them on a creative and thrilling learning journey.
I am excited to announce that we have also been awarded the first stage of our International Schools Award. I would like to thank Mrs Cowdry for all of her work in driving the French curriculum and ensuring we are well underway with our French partner school and the future stages of the award.
We are acutely aware that Covid has kept many of our parents distanced from the everyday learning that takes place, we now feel that it is time to start building our relationship again, into an even stronger partnership - one that showcases the amazing talent and curiosity we have here at DPA. Starting from next term, we will hold our first Face to face parents consultation event since the pandemic, whilst we might take a hybrid approach in the future, we now want to welcome you back in our community. We will also hold our ‘Walk in Wednesdays’ once a term, allowing you to walk in and look at your child's work and learning environment. Dates will be shared on the important dates sheets in due course.
Our Parent Teacher Association continues to plan many extra activities for our children but they do need some extra volunteers and members. If you can spare some of your time - please do get involved. They do a magnificent job of fundraising and providing the extra treats our children get. Without an active PTA many things such as Christmas Grottos and End of year parties might not take place in the future - please do consider taking an active role in the fabulous work the team do, to enhance the provision here at DPA.
As we rapidly approach the Easter break, I would like to wish all of our families - children and staff - a very restful, peaceful, chocolate filled Easter.
