KS2 children have been demonstrating their IB learner profiles and skills in our weekly French lessons and French club with great gusto.
Year 3 classes have made fantastic progress in their language learning journey and are now able to speak and read in sentences on the specific topic of activities.
Year 4 children have shown growing linguistic awareness of grammatical skills and language manipulation on the topic of family.
In year 5, we started our learning on the topic of clothing which has allowed us to understand the grammatical concept of adjectival agreement. Year 5 have also had the opportunity to explore an inquiry linked lesson about Vikings.
Year 6 have learned to describe their weekend and daily routine, using more complex sentences including time and chronological detail.
Our French partner school has been kind enough to share with us an introductory video introducing their school as well as their region of the South West of France. Year 5 children have enjoyed watching and learning about their French friends.Dartford Primary Academy children have now recorded a video, which we are in the process of editing, that we will send to our partner school shortly.
We have recently celebrated francophonie and the French language internationally and to mark the occasion, DPA has organised a competition open to all our language learners. There are some wonderful prizes to be won and we will announce our lucky winners after our Easter break. Good luck to all!
Again, DPA has truly embraced its international mindedness ethos and our children have again proved to be formidable risk takers and communicators, so well done!
