What a fantastic term it has been! We have explored life in Victorian Britain, the Great Fire of London and how Mayan Civilization has impacted our lives today. In year one, the children have become experts in the life of Queen Victoria. They were fascinated by her ‘Bathing Machine’ and the fact that she wore black for so many years. This learning has been built on in year six where the children learnt about the work of Dr Barnado and the lasting impact the work of the charity has today. In year two, the children became Metropolitan Police Detectives as they investigated the causes of the Great Fire of London and who was to blame. They’ve made great progress in their writing as they have written diary entries in role and really focused on their descriptive vocabulary.
Many thanks to all of our families for supporting us in our Christmas performances. We are so incredibly proud of our children and the risks they have bravely taken in performing in front of an audience - some of them for the very first time.
We hope you have a restful Christmas which is able to be spent focusing not focusing on any gifts but on the time we are able to spend together.
Take care and stay safe
Mrs Haywood and Mr Mitchell
