What a brilliant start to the year DPA has had! These first two terms have seen our DPA learners explore each of the 10 learner profile attributes. We have explored what these mean in school assemblies, through storytelling and when discussing and learning about different cultures and celebrations. Our students have truly taken on board our mantra of Choose To Be Kind and have shown themselves to be caring and respectful citizens.
As part of each unit of inquiry, children have been tasked with taking action and applying their learning. Wonderful Design Technology learning has taken place, with a special shout out to Year 6 and their light up Christmas Trees, built with their knowledge of electrical circuits.
During the holidays, please continue to use ClassDojo to share with us any action or home learning that happens. Please also share with us your family celebrations over this festive period.
The Learner Profile Attributes - Term 3 Focus
Next term we will focus on two learner profile attributes. Please keep a look out for special home activities and challenges.
More details on what these attributes look like will be shared in the new term.
Careers Related Learning
As an accredited Investors in Careers school, learning about careers and inspiring our children is a key part of each of our units of inquiry. During each unit, our staff carefully plan visits, visitors and activities to expose children to a range of careers to help raise aspirations. This term we have learnt about architects, museum curators, archaeologists, electricians, pilots, doctors and MPs.
A special shout out goes to Year 2, who had visits from the Great Fire of London. The children got to explore the jobs of a baker, maid, police officer and Samuel Pepys himself! Take a look at the Year 2 page to find out more.
Next term, we would like to invite parents and family members to share their experiences and careers with our pupils. If you would be interested in sharing your career or profession then please contact Mr Filsell & Ms Baptiste via our school office - office@dartfordprimary.org.uk
