Year 4

Central Idea -  Beliefs and Values can be expressed in different ways.

Line of inquiry 1 - An inquiry into personal beliefs and values.

Line of inquiry 2 - An inquiry into how the beliefs and values in the past have been shared.

Line of inquiry 3 - An inquiry into how we share our beliefs and values as a society today.

This term's subject drivers have been RE, History and Art. Year 4 had visitors from 3 different faiths. They explained their key beliefs, values, religious celebrations and festivals. The children were able to ask questions and partake in various activities with each visitor. We explored different beliefs and values across the world and throughout time, focusing on the Greeks. With this, the children created mosaic artwork, designed pottery and created their own God or Goddess.

Science learning this term has been sound, linking with music, this allowed Year 4 to experiment with different instruments and materials leading to the creation of their own junk model musical instrument, our own string and cup telephones and used different materials to create the best sound proof ear defenders.
