How is the IB PYP different to other teaching programmes?
The PYP has a focus on the holistic child and the child being the centre of the learning. The programme allows children to develop their understanding of their place in the world at a local and global level using purposeful and authentic resources and learning opportunities. Langley Park fully encompasses this approach through every aspect of the teaching and learning that takes place. You can find out more about the specific planning and the PYP curriculum page.
The children will then explore the Central Idea through lines of inquiry that will help to develop their understanding of the 'Central Idea' through smaller steps. The lines of inquiry statements are all linked to key concepts. These help the children to understand the direction their questions may go and what they want to achieve through their Unit of Inquiry.
