Diversity and Inclusion

This week at Langley Park Primary Academy the children have been learning about and putting into practise the Fundamental British Value of Democracy, culminating in the election of our new School Council representatives.

To kick start the week we explored democracy and how parliament works in our Monday assembly.

Those children who were interested in representing their class put their names forward and wrote their own manifesto, setting out their aims and vision for the academy to win the votes of their class mates. Some extremely good persuasive language was used - we may have some politicians in the making!

On Thursday, the children had their own ballot paper and voted for their chosen representative.

There was much anticipation and excitement when the winners were revealed in Celebration Assembly on Friday. Well done to our winners and all those who put themselves forward. Look out for their special LPPA coloured badges on their uniform.

Updates to follow on the work of the School Council.
