For our very first line of inquiry in Year 2, we explored the differences found within our academy communities. The children sorted pictures into three categories (language, culture and tradition) to explore their meanings. We also identified how we were different to each other.
During this line of inquiry, we explored our feelings and how we can resolve conflict. The children also went on their first school trip and walked around the local community identifying ways we can show mutual respect. We visited the park, local roads and the nature reserve!
Line of Inquiry 3: An inquiry into why traditions help maintain cultural identity and connection.
In our final line of inquiry, Year 2 children have explored different traditions and celebrations found across the world. We spoke about our own traditions during a time of celebration and compared them with our friends.
We have also had the opportunity to compose our very own music (timbre) using musical instruments.
