PS 101

Modern World Governments

"Concerning the best regime, one who is going to undertake the investigation appropriate to it must necessarily discuss first what the most choiceworthy way of life is" -Aristotle

What is democracy? What is authoritarianism? How do countries create political institutions, like voting, party systems, and representation? In PS 101, we will investigate regime types (from democratic to autocratic) and political institutions, and see how all of these tie into characteristics like economic performance and political culture.
