Are Maintenance/Custodial teams play a very important role in keeping our schools running smoothly. Below is a brief summary of what you can expect when subbing in these positions.
At an Elementary School facility, will patrol the buildings, parking areas, grounds, and other areas to prevent illegal acts in order to maintain order and a safe working environment. In addition, the Custodian/Security II will perform facility set-ups, maintenance and custodial work in the cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings, equipment, facilities, and grounds.

In this position you will pick up litter from buildings/surrounding grounds/parking lots; and check, monitor and question students or visitors who appear to be loitering or parking inappropriately. Observes and reports hazards or activities which may affect district safety. Checks, opens and locks doors, windows and gates as needed.
At a High School facility, will patrol the buildings, parking areas, grounds, and other areas to prevent illegal acts in order to maintain order and a safe working environment. In addition, the Custodian/Security III will perform facility set-ups, maintenance and custodial work in the cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings, equipment, facilities, and grounds. In this position you will pick up litter from buildings/surrounding grounds/parking lots; and check, monitor and question students or visitors who appear to be loitering or parking inappropriately. Observes and reports hazards or activities which may affect district safety. Checks, opens and locks doors, windows and gates as needed.
Perform grounds keeping functions, maintenance of school buildings, equipment, and facilities. Trim trees, hedges and shrubs; prepare and treat soil for planting; spade and fertilize flowers/trees, and set out plants. Use herbicides and insecticides to keep assigned areas free from pests and plant diseases. Rake leaves, hoe weeds, and perform general ground maintenance work. Sweep walkways and pick up litter. Maintain materials, supplies, tools, and equipment in proper condition. Repair and maintain all equipment. (i.e. clean and lubricate equipment) Operate mower, tractor, and other mechanical equipment, make minor adjustments, and emergency repairs to power driven equipment.
The Warehouse Technician/Courier plan, organize, supervise and participate in warehousing operations and distribution activities including receiving, processing, storing and issuing of District supplies, materials, textbooks, equipment and furniture; assure compliance with applicable education codes, laws, and regulations; coordinate stock control and inventory systems. Maintain a variety of records and reports pertaining to the operation of the District warehouse; prepare and submit reports and records related to assigned activities as requested. Daily pickup and delivery of District mail.
