The Basic Features phase will ensure teachers have a solid understanding of how Google Classroom works from both the teacher perspective and the student perspective. At the conclusion of this beginner module, teachers will be able to create their own Google Classrooms using appropriate settings and navigational tools. They will be able to create virtual assignments for students to complete and submit. Teachers will be able to use built-in CMS tools for student assessment, providing feedback, and connecting virtually. Teachers will also have a proficient understanding of the student-view and be able to aid students when needed.
The Advanced Features phase will dive deeper into how Google Classroom can be an effective tool to catapult engaging learning experiences for students and streamline teacher efficiency behind the scenes. In this module, the connection between google apps will be addressed and teachers will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency of app integration. Teachers will be able to effectively create a hyperdoc to consolidate learning activities, assessments, and instructions. Additionally, teachers will use new skills to post interactive docs for students via Google Classroom. Teachers will have a greater understanding of how creativity can be used to showcase their individuality and spice up visuals for students.
Best Practices aims to develop confident educators in a digital age of learning. This module frames district expectations for all educators to create a unified guide for digital instruction. Teachers will demonstrate a general knowledge of ISTE standards and digital citizenship expectations, and how to effectively communicate these with students. Teachers will provide personal reflections and pedagogical goals for the future based on these standards, district expectations, and the adoption of Google Classroom as the universal content management system.
CEUs are available on a sliding scale @ a minimum of 5 hours of training (0.5) through a maximum of 10 hours of training (1 whole CEU). Additional registration will NOT be required!
