What is App Smashing?
@GregKulowiec is given credit for coining the term App Smashing. According to Greg, app smashing can be defined as "The process of using multiple apps in conjunction with one another to complete a final task or project." Some of you can recall times when you were creating something on one platform and found yourself thinking, "If only I could do that thing like I can with ... (insert another app/program here)." That's when you app smash to get what you envision. For instance, using Screencastify to record a Google Slide presentation is app smashing. Using Google Drawings or some other graphics program to create an image to be inserted in a Google Slide deck is app smashing. App smashing is about not limiting you and/or your students to just one tool.

Wakelet is definitely a game changer. It's a free app and web-based application that gives you the ability to curate resources for yourself, your coworkers, and your students. Click here for a sample "wake" on Google Classroom. Some say it has a "Pinterest" feel, but it's so much more powerful. It's being used for personal collections like passion projects, vacation planning, recipe collections, and more. In education, it's used for resource sharing, newsletters, research projects, presentations, and the list goes on. Click here for a "wake" of Wakelet ideas for the classroom. It's an awesome way for students to organize their learning. Wakelet has the 'Log in with Google' option for educators and there is no need for students to create Wakelet accounts in order to create content.
