When you or your students access a class in Google Classroom, the homepage is considered the Stream. This is where you post announcements. Announcements are posts without assignments. Use them to notify students of upcoming events. Post an announcement to share a web page or other resource(s) with your students. Ask simple questions for student feedback. Allow students to post announcements to provide an open dialogue where teachers and students can answer general interest questions. You can add an announcement for more than one class at a time or for different students in the class. You can save a draft of an announcement to post later, post announcements immediately, or schedule it to show in the stream at a later date. Note: If you are wanting to post for a certain group of students and/or schedule the announcement to show later, you can only do this on a class by class basis. Scheduling announcements will not work for multiple classes. Announcements appear in backwards chronological order with the option to move older announcements back to the top of of the stream. Think of the Stream as a place to communicate with your students. To add to the Stream, click where it says... Share something with the class.

You have several posting options with Announcements in the Stream. You can choose to post immediately to one or more classes or to a group of students in one class. You can save your Announcement as a draft to post at a later date. You can choose to schedule the post for an individual class on a certain day and time. If you are wanting to do more than post immediately, click the carrot to the right of the word Post.

There is no need to reinvent the wheel when you need to repeat information for other classes or resend an announcement. That's when Reuse comes in to play. To reuse an announcement from any class you teach, click the arrows at the end of the Share Something With Your Class statement.

The Class Comment feature lends to a true dialogue between teacher and students. The conversation is made by simply posting a response in the Class Comments as seen below. It's important to realize that everyone in the Classroom can view these posts. Comments made in the Stream can be seen by everyone in the Google Classroom.
