Cost Accounting (CA) is the tracking and measurement of costs associated with defined units of work (e.g., Work Order, Task, Project, Grant) to support City operations and decision-making.
This allows Departments to track costs for their specific reporting purposes while also allowing the City’s central departments to monitor costs associated with Citywide initiatives (e.g., LA Marathon) and emergency events (e.g., Station Fire).
