Will infoAdvantage be structured the same as Merlin (some reports are public, while some reports are private)?
Access will be similar in infoAdvantage. Corporate reports cannot be modified and departmental reports will be private.
Will departments be allowed to have access to FMS data tables?
When FMS is live, FMIS Mainframe FOCUS will no longer be supported. Departments are encouraged to use FMS ad-hoc reports through infoAdvantage for all reporting needs and downloading of data. Should there be a need for direct read only access to FMS data, departments must first submit a request through the Controller’s Office to download data from the Centralized Data Repository.
I do not see any Historical Ledger folder under Public Folder/Corporate Documents/Historical/FMS. How can I view it?
When you create new document and select FMIS Universe, you will see it there. You will also see it when you modify an existing Historical report.
How do you refresh Corporate Documents or any Documents?
When you are in the document, click on the "Refresh Data" icon to refresh documents. Please refer to the FMS 102: Basic Business Intelligence on page 20 located within the FMS website
How do I save my report to Excel?
Report can be saved to Excel by selecting "Document" on the manual bar and Save to my computer as "Excel". Please refer to the FMS 102: Basic Business Intelligence on page 26 located within the FMS website.
How do I schedule Ad Hoc reports?

How do I copy a report(s) from Inbox to my Favorites?
Highlight the report, right click on the highlighted report, select Organize, select Copy. Go to your favorite folder, highlight the folder you want to put the report in, right click on the highlighted folder, select Organize and select Paste.
How do I make changes to an existing report?
Users can copy an existing Corporate report and paste it to their own Favorites folder or their Departmental Folder and edit report.
How can I change the font size on InfoAdvantage reports?
The relationship is one-to-one. So a Work Order can only point to a single Location, Activity, and Project. If your Work Orders are used in multiple locations and across multiple activities, do not infer these COA elements. Users must identify the proper Location and Activity.
How do I get reports generated by the time I get in the office?
You can schedule reports to run for you and they will be in your in-box. To be able schedule a report, it must not be in the Corporate folder. How do I get access to Infoadvantage?
Ask your department FMS Security Coordinator to submit Access Request Form to FMS Support.
What is the difference between Corporate reports and departmental reports?
Corporate reports were developed for use by all departments. These can be copied and modified by each department. Departmental folders contain reports specific to that department. User access limited to their own department.

How can I get a page number to display on first page?
From template, drag blank cell calls page # onto the report.
I see red arrows when I save a copy of a report and try to run with new queries’. What can I do?
Those red arrows mean you must enter value. Otherwise, you won't be able to run the report
How do I save a document as PDF?
Select Document then select Save to my computer as a PDF.
Will SAR reports be available online? For example, will report FMS124A be available to print to Excel?
Users will be able to execute and download ANY infoAdvantage report to Excel.
Does infoAdvantage have the ability to do variance analysis, i.e. statistical analysis (trend analysis)?
Yes, infoAdvantage has analysis features, such as projecting future revenues.
Will FMIS data (20 years+ history) still be available through reports?
Yes, infoAdvantage users can still run reports based on FMIS data. However, FMIS and FMS data cannot be combined into one report due to the different data structures.
Will each department have its own universe in Info Advantage?
No, departments will not have their own universes. Creating and maintaining universes is the responsibility of the FMS BI Team.
Which reports are available in infoAdvantage?

Will SMS data be included in the 1099 consolidated reports?
Because the Controller has to submit citywide consolidated 1099, SMS data (whenever appropriate) will be included in the consolidation. However, SMS 1099 data will not be available in FMS, only in 1099 Convey
Currently with MERLIN no double entry is required. Will users still be allowed to use MERLIN?
Included in the FMS project is a reporting solution that includes a data warehouse. FMS will not support MERLIN.
We rely on MERLIN for historical data. Will infoAdvantage contain historical data?
Yes, all FMIS data will reside in infoAdvantage. In addition, if departments have MERLIN reports, departments can continue to use those reports.
